About the Product

Map AI is a location intelligence analytics platform. It helps homebuyers, real estate agents, and businesses choose locations based on data such as crime rates, median income, school ratings, demographics, and dozens of other factors. The product works for both individual users looking for a place to live and businesses evaluating the potential of a new location.

The Challenge

The data Map AI works with is complex and often unsettling: crime rates, income gaps, demographic shifts. Users don’t come for the data—they come for confidence in their decision. The challenge wasn’t simply to visualize the data, but to ensure users felt in control rather than overwhelmed. At the same time, the same interface had to work for three completely different audiences: a broad B2C audience—the average homebuyer; B2B2C—real estate agents; and professional B2B—analysts or business owners.

My Role

Full design cycle: discovery, user research, prototyping, testing, design QA, design system. On my own initiative, I also took on the development of the product’s branding and the creation of a landing page on Webflow.

Competitor Analysis

I analyzed 4 direct competitors across 20+ parameters. Key finding: all of them are aimed at professionals and assume that the user already knows how to work with data. None of them addressed the challenge of “making complex concepts understandable to a beginner.”
